The moment Mama Taraba slayed at FEC meeting

Mama Taraba was the star at Wednesday's FEC meeting. And the thing is, she knew it.

And then she had the spring in her steps to go with her confidence. She was here to slay and boy did she slay!

Mama Taraba as Alhassan is nicknamed, waltzed into the venue of the FEC meeting at 10:35am; to rousing welcome from her cabinet colleagues.

And she had a smile etched on her face the entire time. A smile for everyone.

Before making her way to the Council Chambers venue of the meeting, Mama Taraba stopped to flash Minister of Mines and Steel, Kayode Fayemi, a wide grin and then he returned the favour. There was some small talk between them that lasted barely a minute or two.

As the cameras from the press corps flashed and clicked, Mama Taraba walked round, pumping hands with her colleagues and making sure to greet everyone.

She said a long hello to Chief of Staff Abba Kyari who wasn’t in his office to receive her last week.

There was another smile for Jalil Araba who is the State House Permanent Secretary.

Everything seemed funny to Mama Taraba all of a sudden. She was basking in the spotlight and not giving a damn because she had none to give.

Then she stepped into the Council Chambers to have a little chat with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

At exactly 11am, President Muhammadu Buhari stepped into the Council Chambers and everyone took their seats in readiness for the day’s discussions.

As is the norm, the press would be shut out for the deliberations at the highest decision making body in Nigeria to continue apace.

Lights out.
