Acting CJN to swear in 2 new Supreme Court judges Monday

The appointment of the two justices will bring the number of judges in the apex court to 17.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier approved the appointment of the two judges, Justices Sidi Bage and Paul Gilinje.

According to Premium Times, the judges were recommended to the President by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

According to a statement issued by the NJC spokesman, Soji Oye, “President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Honourable Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, and Honourable Justice Paul Adamu Galinje, as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council.

“The two Honourable Justices will be sworn-in by the Acting Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice W. S. N. Onnoghen, CFR, on Monday 5th December, 2016 at 2.00 pm in the Supreme Court of Nigeria.”
