Ndume, 2 others get new positions

Ali Ndume and two other lawmakers have been appointed to chair committees in the upper chamber.

Senate President Bukola Saraki also announced new committee at plenary on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

They are Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Federal Road Maintenance Agency, and Legislative Compliance.

Ndume chairs the committee on INEC while Senator Atai Aidoko and Senator George Sekibo will lead the committees on SGDs and Interior respectively.

The Senate on passed 2017 budget for the second time today.

The N7.3 trillion appropriation bill has N1.7 trillion for debt servicing; N419 billion for statutory transfers; N177 billion for sinking funds and maturity bonds; N2.98 trillion for recurrent expenditure; and N2.06 trillion for capital expenditure.
