Sahara Reporters demanded $1M bribe from Senate President, says Omisore

The Senate President's Senior Adviser on New Media took to Twitter to lay these accusations against Sowore.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Omisore has fired back at Sowore, who had accused Saraki of bribing the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to get a favourable ruling of his case before the Danladi Umar-led tribunal which he won yesterday, June 14, 2017.

Sowore had accused Saraki of bribing Danladi$2 million to gain victory at the tribunal in charge of his case of false assets declaration filed by the Federal Government in 2015.

Omisore said the allegations were baseless and was a crude attempt by Sowore's Sahara Reporters media outfit to extort money from the Senate President.

Tweeting with his handle (@MrBanksOmishore), he said, "@yelesowore everyone knows you have strong appetite for $$$, if you had evidence of $2 million bribe, you will blow whistle.

"You are a fraud & days of fake news[are] coming to an end. Nigerians are wiser, you can’t use propaganda to extort.

"I know this is a personal loss for you. No more excuse for you to milk your pay masters to use CCT to blackmail."

He continued, "OMOYELE SOWORE is a THIEF, BARAWO. You cannot use your platform to blackmail Saraki to get $$$[dollars]."

Omisore confirmed this to PulseNigeria on Thursday, saying Sowore demanded $1 million to desist from spreading malicious stories about the Senate President.

While he continued to attack Sowore, Omisore also hailed Saraki's victory at the tribunal on Wednesday, "The victory from CCT today is victory for democracy, victory for rule of law. Loss for propagandist like @YeleSowore

"I’m sure if the prosecution had a case or we paid @YeleSowore as demanded. I’m sure it will be justice even with same judges in your eyes."

In yesterday's ruling, CCT chairman, Danladi said the prosecution failed to prove the case of false asset declaration against Saraki, and dismissed all 18-count charge against him.
