'Why I rebuilt a church with my funds,' Emir of Kano reveals

Sanusi revealed that he personally rebuilt the church situated in Rogo local government area in Kano with his personal income after he learnt about the destruction.

 

In an effort to end religious unrest, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has revealed why he rebuilt a church which was destroyed during a religious unrest.

The ex-governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria made this disclosure when he met a delegation of religious leaders at an Inter-Religious and Community Conference in Kano.

Sanusi revealed that he personally rebuilt the church situated in Rogo local government area in Kano with his personal income after he learnt about the destruction.

“I renovated the said church to help avoid a situation where a Christian believer might feel offended and his religion disrespected,” Sanusi II, said:.
