'Don't go prayer ground with hand bags, bottles, cans' - Police warn

He said his men have been directed not to allow anyone violating the instruction onto the prayer ground.

The Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Nasiru D. Oki, has cautioned muslim faithful not to go to prayer ground on Sallah day with their hand bags or any thing that that can conceal explosive device.

He said this while speaking to journalists at the Head Quarters of the Police Command in Jos on his Command’s readiness to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el Kabir celebration.

Oki also asserted that car owners must pack their cars 300 meters away from prayer ground, and that bottles and beverage cans should not be seen with anyone around the prayer ground.

“We will do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure that insurgents did not take advantage of the celebration to perpetrate their heinous act,” the police boss assured.
