According to Daily Post, Shittu said former President Jonathan never symbolised anything for Nigeria, adding that Buhari is a father figure.

The minister also said Nigerians will beg Buhari to run for second term in 2019.

In his Twitter response, Omori said “Shittu says PMB is a father to Nigerians and GEJ was not, yet GEJ never gave Bayelsa preferential recruitment but PMB gave Katsina with DSS.

“Adebayo Shittu says Buhari is like a father to Nigerians and Jonathan was not, yet PMB never accepted election defeat while GEJ freely did!

“Adebayo Shittu says Buhari is a father to Nigerians and Jonathan was not, yet PMB's kids schooled abroad while GEJ's schooled in Nigeria.”

Reno Omokri also called on President Buhari to make his health a priority and not power.
