Buhari says FG to focus on infrastructure in tertiary institutions

The president then expressed displeasure over situations whereby students hanged on windows to receive lectures due to limited space in their classrooms.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Federal Government would focus on improving infrastructure in the nation’s tertiary institutions.

He made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja during his maiden Presidential Media Chat.

He said there was the need for more infrastructure in tertiary institutions in terms of laboratories, equipment, workshops, libraries and classrooms.

"I do not like the idea of students sitting by the windows while receiving lectures.

"There is need for more classrooms to make teaching and learning conducive.’’

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that Buhari had presented a N6.08 trillion budget proposal for the year 2016, with education getting the highest allocation of N369.6 million.
