First Lady guarantees women 45% affirmative if Jonathan is re-elected

As the elections draw closer, campaigns and closed door meetings with electorates have intensified.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has said the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) will give 45% affirmative to women, if President Jonathan is re-elected.

Mrs Jonathan said this at the Women Presidential rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

She said the incumbent administration has fulfilled its promise of 35 per cent affirmative action for women in the administration’s empowerment scheme to include Youwin program, noting that the only way to sustain the program is to re-elect President Jonathan.

The host Governor, Godswill Akpabio however guaranteed that the people of the State would give the President a minimum of 1.5 million votes in the coming elections.
