34 senior officers retired from service

34 senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have been retired as part of an ongoing re-organization exercise.

This was disclosed via a statement released on Friday, October 30, 2015, by NCS spokesperson, Wale Adeniyi on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali.

The statement reads:

“As part of on-going re-organization in Nigeria Customs Service, 34 Senior Officers have been retired from Service with immediate effect.”

“The re-organization of the Service is one of the core mandates of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd).”

Among those affected are five Deputy Comptrollers-General of Customs (DCGs): John Atte MFR, Ibrahim Mera OON, Musa Tahir mni, Austin Nwosu and Akinade Adewuyi.

Ali was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to head the NCS in September.
