This is coming on the heels of a statement from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), accusing MASSOB of betraying the cause.
The group also said it cannot abandon the struggle like its former leader, Ralph Uwazuruike.
A statement issued by MASSOB spokesman, Comrade Samuel Edeson, said “MASSOB, under the leadership of our leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, expresses dissatisfaction and sadness over this allegation from our sister organization, IPOB, and we advise that the statements should be thoroughly investigated because our image and name had been adversely affected.
“MASSOB understands that IPOB, while making the statements, was referring to Ralph Uwazuruike’s betrayal and sabotage, if Uwazurike, as a person, is accused of being corrupt and sabotaging the Biafra struggle, it does not mean that MASSOB as an organization, had betrayed Biafra struggle.
“Uwazuruike’s deviation from Biafra struggle was the primary reason MASSOB expelled and chased him out of MASSOB headquarters at Okwe, Imo State since 2014.”
Chief Ralph Uwazuruike said that God is involved in the struggle for a Biafra nation.
