‘I thank God for the opportunity to serve the country,’ Ex-INEC Chairman says

Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega vacated the office on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, after spending five years in office.

Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega has expressed gratitude at the opportunity to serve Nigeria during his tenure.

Jega handed over to National Commissioner, Muhammad Wali on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, after spending five years in office.

During the official handing over ceremony at the INEC office in Abuja, the former Chairman envisaged a bright future for the country and the commission.

“We feel great; we thank God Almighty for the opportunity to serve the country. The future is bright for the commission and the country. In whatever we have achieved, we should keep it up and do more”, he said.

Jega vacated the office along with six national commissioners who were appointed at the same time with him.
