One killed as abducted Regent is rescued from kidnappers

Princess Omosowon was rescued from a den in Edo State on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, by a combined team of State Security Service officers and policemen.

The Regent of Akungba-Akoko, Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon has been rescued from her abductors after two weeks of captivity.

She was kidnapped on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, along Owo-Akure road.

According to the state SSS Director, Christian Ojobor, the leader of the gang of kidnappers died during the operation, while two others were arrested.

Ojobor also assured that the state would no longer be a safe haven for criminals while handing the Regent over to Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

Also rescued were the Regent’s driver Aliu Jelili, a corps member, Azubike Ijeoma, an Indian, Alex John Thekinathy and his orderly Obute Sunday.
