The popular Balogun market in Lagos State was today, January 12, the scene of a raging inferno.

The fire is believed to have started in the early hours of the morning and has destroyed four houses, five plazas and a bank building in the area.

The cause of the fire is unknown but men of the fire service have since arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze.
This comes after a fire also razed a settlement in Ebute Metta, beside the Third Mainland Bridge yesterday night.
