Terrorists kill 6, burn farm harvests

The local residents had to travel down to Maiduguri to report the attack.

According to a report by AFP, the LGA's secretary, Bukar Wakil Tawu, confirmed on Monday, November 6, that 20 fighters had invaded the community to carry out the attack around 9pm.

He said, "They killed six people and burnt almost the whole town. They also burnt livestock and food supplies from recent harvests. I went to the town yesterday (Sunday), where I met the poor residents. They are peasants who rely on subsistence farming and their livestock.

"They have now lost all their belongings. We are appealing to the government to come to their aid and for patrols to be intensified because the area is remote and it has relatively huge population."

The local residents were reported to have had to travel down to Maiduguri, the state capital, to report the attack because communication is down in the community.

The attack is among many reported this week after terrorists invaded Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state, and opened fire on residents who fled into nearby bushes, mountains, and hills.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, condemned the 'cowardly' attack as he posted on his Twitter account , "The attack on innocent people by Boko Haram terrorists deserves continued condemnation and action. The latest attack on Adamawa is cowardly!"

The attack happened only a day after two male suicide bombers entered the home of a family in Tsilah village near Madagali and held a woman and her daughter hostage before they detonated the explosives strapped to their bodies, killing themselves and hostages.
