At the resumed hearing on Friday, parents and journalists were not allowed to witness the proceedings.

Sources in the court said she was briefly cross examined by the Defence Counsel, Kayode Olaosebekan, before Justice Aliya Nganjiwa adjourned the matter till July 8.

Olaosebekan let told newsmen that Yanusa might meet his bail conditions on July 4.

“The process to perfect the bail conditions are at advanced stage; we are still working on the bail and we are trying to perfect the bail conditions.

“The court is in the process of verifying sureties and we hope that by Monday, July 4, he, Yanusa will be out from prison,” Olaosebekan said.

Yunusa had been in prison custody over his inability to meet the bail conditions.

The court had admitted the accused to bail in the sum of three million naira with two sure ties in like sum.

It held that one of the sure ties must be a civil servant on grade level 12, and the other a traditional ruler from Bayelsa.

But on application by the Defence, the court has relaxed the bail condition to a level nine civil servant, and allow a Hausa traditional ruler from any community to stand as surety.
