NSCDC deploys 4,000 personnel in FCT

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the command’s Spokesperson, David Akinbinu, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The FCT Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Patrick Ukpan, disclosed this in a statement signed by the command’s Spokesperson, David Akinbinu, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ukpan stated that‎ 4,000 personnel were deployed to strategic places in the FCT to ensure security during the festive period.

He stressed the need to enhance security, especially during festive periods when crime was usually  on the increase.

The commandant said that the corps had also increased its patrols and surveillance to provide heightened protection across the  state capital.

He said special emphasis would be on places of worship, parks, recreation centres Kaduna road, Kogi road, Nasarawa and Niger road, among several other places.

Ukpan  also said  that  disaster and emergency units would be on standby to provide first hand assistance and to respond aptly in case of emergencies and security threat.‎‎He urged FCT residents to be vigilant, obey rules and order and report suspicious activities to the nearest security post.
