But a close associate of the former NNPC GMD, Mr Vincent Bodam confirmed to Pulse that Andrew Yakubu has been released.
"We just left the commission now at about 3pm. The Former GMD was just invited for questioning and he is now in his home," Vincent Bodams said.
Yakubu became GMD of NNPC in 2012 after his appointment was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan. He was later controversially sacked by the Jonathan administration in 2014.
