North Korea has lifted a ban placed on foreigners four months ago due to fears about the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.

The isolated Asian country placed the ban on foreign tourists four months ago.
News of the ban being lifted was relayed on Monday, March 2, by tour operators who work with visitors to the country.
"Our contacts in the country have informed us to expect that we should hear news later today that North Korea will be reopening its borders after a more than four-month closure due to Ebola,"Nick Bonner, co-founder of Chinese-based travel agency, Koryo Tours, told Reuters.

"The National Tourism Administration in Pyongyang contacted us this morning to let us know that there is some movement in the border policy," he added.
The current Ebola outbreak has killed more than 9,000 peoplein West Africa and has been described as the worst ever recorded.
