Melaye was involved in a verbal war with Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the floor of the Senate during a closed door session.
Reports alleged that the Kogi Senator threatened to beat up and impregnate Senator Tinubu.
Melaye in a statement, however denied the allegations saying it was impossible to impregnate the wife of the APC leader,

The Senator who arrived Lagos early on Saturday, July 16. 2016, posted pictures of himself walking on Bourdillion in Ikoyi on his social media page.
He also posted tweets of his visit on Twitter saying "Dino on bourdillon street in lagos now,walking down the street. Waiting for noise makers. Eyin da?"
Melaye also said "Announcement: I dey Lagos ooo,those wey say make I no enter Eko. Will drive round lagos in an open roof."
The South-West APC leadership slammed Dino Melaye for threatening Senator Oluremi Tinubu saying he is a disgrace and a wolf in sheepskin.
The APC leader, Bola Tinubu also described Melaye's misconduct as a "disgrace to the Senate.”
