‘Arrest anyone you want,’ PDP tells Buhari

The party however urged Buhari to be fair in the carrying out of his war against corruption.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is free to order the arrest of any of its members found to be ‘bad eggs’.

The party however urged Buhari to be fair in the carrying out of his war against corruption, Daily Trust reports.

The comments were made by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh during an interview on December 3, 2015.

“We have made it clear that we are completely in support of the anti-corruption drive,” Metuh said.

“We are not saying anything against it, all we are saying is let it not be as if people have already been presumed guilty,” he added.

Metuh made the comments in relation to the recent arrests of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki and PDP Chieftain, Raymond Dokpesi.

Dokpesi and Dasuki are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged laundering of $2 billion in funds meant for the procurement of arms for Nigeria's military.

The party had earlier criticized Buhari saying that the anti-corruption war was specifically targeted at its members.
