The girls were among more than 200 who were abducted from the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Chibok, Borno state in April 2014.
News of their release was broken on Thursday, October 13, and has been confirmed by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu.
According to Sahara Reporters, 18 of the released girls are nursing babies believed to be born to Boko Haram terrorists.

This development further confirms fears that the young girls were turned to sex slaves by the terrorists during their time in captivity.
The girls were freed following negotiations which the Nigerian government says were brokered by the Swiss government and the Red Cross.
Meanwhile, the girls are said to have been released in exchange for the freedom of four Boko Haram members.
