'President's lawyer gave Justice Ademola N500,000 during certificate trial’ - Witness

The witness revealed that Buhari’s ‘N500,000 gift’ was passed to Justice Ademola through the President’s lawyer.

 

Adepoju, disclose this during cross examination by Barrister Jeph Njikonye at an FCT High Court on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

The witness revealed that Buhari’s ‘N500,000 gift’ was passed to Justice Ademola through the President’s lawyer, Kola Awodehin (SAN) during his daughter’s wedding.Njikonye said Joe Agi (SAN) told him that the time Awodehin gave the gift to Justice Ademola, Buhari’s certificate suit was pending before the judge.

When asked if President Buhari was bribing the judge to win his case by presenting a wedding gift to the judge while President had a case before him, the witness said: “No. In my opinion, it would be speculative to say the gift by President Buhari lawyer was a bribe to Justice Ademola. It is not a bribe.”

Justice Ademola is standing trial on a 15-count charge bothering on corruption.

Ademola's home was raided by the DSS on allegations of corruption in 2016.
