The Presidency has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the arrest of his wife’s younger brother, Musa Yola, over allegations of fraud.

Rumours had it that Buhari had ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest Yola after he allegedly defrauded someone of N300 million.

The reports have however been denied by Buhari’s aide, Garba Shehu.

“It is definitely not true, there is no iota of truth on this report there is no basis for the president to do that,” Shehu said while speaking to Premium Times.

Mrs Buhari’s brother also spoke to Premium Times and expressed his shock at the reports.

“As we speak, I am in the President’s office and I was with him last night,” Yola said. “I simply don’t know or understand who is behind these malicious rumours,” he added.

Yola was alleged to have committed the fraud by promising to acquire an oil bloc for the unnamed victim.
