'I turned down N400m car proposal for the presidency' - President says

Also speaking on the controversial N3.6 billion for BMW vehicles for the National Assembly in the 2016 budget, Buhari urged the lawmakers reconsider the outrageous proposal.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, December 30, disclosed that he turned down a car proposal of N400 million for the presidency in the 2016 budget.

While answering questions from journalists during the maiden edition of the presidential media chat, the president said the cars he currently use are good enough for another 10 years.

Also speaking on the controversial N3.6 billion for BMW vehicles for the National Assembly in the budget, Buhari urged the lawmakers to reconsider the outrageous proposal.

"I hope the vehicles have not been bought", he said.
