Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in North Eastern Nigeria are seeking for recruitment into Nigeria para-military, Pulse has gathered.

Recently, a drama ensued at Malkohi IDP camp in Yola when many of the displaced, mostly young men and women demanded to be recruited into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) as well as other paramilitary organisations.

They made their position known when Adamawa state commander of the NSCDC, Muhammadu Durumin Iya and his immigration counterpart, Ubi Ukpi visited the Malkohi camp.

The paramilitary officers donated bags of rice, cooking oil and sewing machines to the IDPs. Donating the items on behalf of the commander General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Mohammed, the Adamawa commander of the corp, Muhammadu Durumin Iya said the gesture is in fulfillment of the promised made by the interior minister, retired General Abdulrahman Danbazau.

Adamawa state comtroller of immigration, Ubi Ukpi also presented sewing machines on behalf of his comptroller General, Martins Abeshi to help the IDPs in the ongoing training and skills acquisitions at the camp.
