"I’ll Soon Be Back"- Former President Says Amid Sick Reports

Former military ruler, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has said that he will soon return to the country after a visit abroad for medical purposes

Following reports that he was severely ill and receiving treatment in a German hospital, former president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has said that he would soon return to the country.

Babangida spoke to journalists over the phone and confirmed that he is recuperating from surgery in Germany, Leadership reports.

The former military ruler said:

“I miss all of you; I wish you all Barka Da Sallah; I am better now; I will be back in few days’ time,”

Babangida did not specify his exact date of arrival but an inside source reportedly said that he is expected back in the country next week Friday, October 17.

The retired general was supposedly due back before the just concluded Sallah celebrations but he reportedly had to stay back for more medical examinations.

Babangida was said to have left the country on September 6 to seek medical attention for an ailment connected with a chronic back pain he had reportedly been suffering.
