Singer mixes sonic beauty with religious zeal

In 2012, Wumi released her debut album 'Praised Restored' and has been blessed with its success. She is currently in production for her second project 'Be Lifted.' Her ability to engage the audience through her culture and skill has been described as amazing.

Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, in the western part of Nigeria, Wumi started singing in school at the early age of 6, and immediately discovered her passion for music. At the age of 12, she became born again and realized it was God calling her to sing.

From that point, Wumi participated in various choirs throughout her teenage years and eventually moved to America in 1996 to focus on her education. She obtained an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources. Wumi is married with three beautiful children and resides in Atlanta GA. She is currently the Praise & Worship Leader of The Redeemed Church of God Victory International Center, where she has served for the past 14 years.

Wumi’s performances include Sweet Auburn Fest on the V103 Main Stage, Church Services & Conferences, Youth Services, and various national and international events.

Wumi released her first single Conga (Dance for You) on New Year’s Day 2014 and it gained major recognition around the world. The song speaks volumes as Wumi inspires the listeners to give God thanks. From Wumi’s Nigerian flavor and MOBO award winner Victizzle’s UK flair to the cross-cultural dynamics of the music production, the song is diverse in its appeal. As a result of this release, Wumi has been nominated by the Crystal Gospel Awards (Nigeria’s most prestigious Gospel Award for Excellence) for ‘Best Female Artist Outside of Nigeria.’ Wumi’s 'You Can Have It All' was released in March 2015, and is the second single from her upcoming album.

Wumi is an Artist whose voice possesses anointing, character, and strength. Wumi is ready to show the rest of the world the gifts that God has given her as she merges the cultures of Nigeria & America through song.

Her sophomore album “Be Lifted” will be released later this year.
