Hip-hop has her upcoming adherents, and Brain, is one of them. He first teamed up with a musical group called V5 getting so much musical experience from producer Frenzy and making records. He has since split, gone solo, and putting pen on paper, and recording new material. That material is what the is. The effort of a man who is holding on to second life.

The 6-track EP starts with ‘Gat it’. Here Brain shows off the braggart in him over concerted drum arrangements and piano underlining. HighHeelz makes for a perfect combination on this song which calls out to people to take notice. Here is a rapper, with very little credibility and coverage, striking heavy, oozing confidence, and commanding your attention. He quickly mirror leaves the mirror and showers praises on celebrated acts on ‘Salute’. Over divergent instrumentals, he does vocal backflips, jumps on to punchlines and scream ‘I dey hail oh’.

Tempo on the EP takes a dive and balances out nicely,as he brings on an underground favorite Ma’Cherie, and proceeds to produce musical cherries on ‘Recognize’. There’s a drop in witticism, as he sacrifices lyricism on the altar of dance. That lyricism never comes back, as he delves into conformist pop sounds. ‘Gaara’ and ‘Illeke’ are better forgotten, as Brains versatility still needs more incubation time. Dancehall and club bangers are clearly not his thing.

Brain attempts to go conscious with the final ‘Take it easy’ cut, but the poor production as has been for the final three songs let him down. There’s just a lot of interferences and intrusions with everything coming forward as confused and just an idea.
