Yvonne Craig, who starred as Batgirl in the 1960s TV series, has died at the age of 78.

The actress died on Monday, August 17, 2015.
She passed away at her California home, surrounded by her immediate family, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Craig paved the way for popular female superheroes like Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, Joanna Cameron's Isis, Scarlett Johannsson's Black Widow among others.

Craig's other works include 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,' 'Star Trek,' 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,' 'It Happened at the World's Fair' and 'Kissin' Cousins.'
