Upcoming sequel gets release date

Brad Pitt will be reprising his role as Gerry Lane for the upcoming sequel to World War Z which has been given a 2017 release date.

Brad Pitt to reprise role in 'World War Z'

Paramount Pictures has announced June 9, 2017 as the release date for the upcoming sequel to 'World War Z.'

To be written by Steven Knight and directed by J.A. Bayona, the upcoming sequel will have Brad Pitt reprising his role as Gerry Lane.

To be produced by Pitt alongside Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B, the film is expected to be a huge success.

'World War Z,'  which earned over $540 million worldwide in 2013, is Pitt's highest-grossing film ever.
