Carlos Munoz Portal, location scout for TV series shot dead in Mexico

The car that conveyed the deceased when he was shot in a rural area in Mexico was infested with bullets.

The deceased who was a Location Scout for the TV programme was killed on Monday, September 11, 2017, while searching for new sites for the Netflix hit.

El Pais reported that his body was found in a bullet marred car in Temascalapa, one of the rural areas in Mexico.

"We are aware of the passing of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a well-respected location scout, and send our condolences to his family.

"The facts surrounding his death are still unknown as authorities continue to investigate," a statement released by Netflix reads following his death.

Facts about the circumstances of his passing remains blurry for the time being but a friend of the deceased suggests that he might have been killed after spooking some dark figures in the area.

The companion also mentioned that Munoz was handling a camera in the vehicle before he was murdered.

His visit to the area was part of activities directed at finding new locations for the fourth season of the television programme expected to focus on the origins of  the Juarez cartel.

But the recent killing of the scout has raised safety concerns, and may possibly encourage the production crew to continue filming in Columbia.

The deceased is credited for scouting roles in the production of  “Sicario,”“Spectre,” “Fast & Furious” and “Apocalypto.”
