Here's a 1st look at Idris Elba’s 1980s comedy series

Created by Idris Elba, "In the Long Run" is loosely based on his own childhood in 1980s East London.

Created by Elba, the series is loosely based on the actor and rapper's own childhood in 1980s East London.

In the series, he plays Walter Easmon, a family man who has settled in England after having arrived from Sierra Leone.

Easmon works in the local factory in the local factory alongside his friend and neighbour Bagpipes, and enjoys a quiet life with his wife and son.

The family’s life is turned upside down when Walter’s brother arrives in the U.K., bringing chaos in his wake and igniting a passion for music in Walter’s son.

The comedy series also stars Madeline Appiah,  Sammy Kamara, Holby City, Jimmy Akingbola, Bill Bailey, Kellie Shirley and Mattie Boys.

Elba executive produces alongside Gina Carter. The series is directed by Declan Lowney and Cecile Emeke.

Elba recently proposed to his girlfriend Sabrina at the screening of his movie "Yardie" at the Rio cinema.

"In the Long Run" debuts on Sky One in the U.K. on March. 29.
