Series gets renewed for 3rd season

Following Taraji P Henson's Golden Globes win for her character Cookie, Fox has renewed "Empire" for a third season.

FOX has renewed its hit drama "Empire" for a third season. The renewal is coming after Taraji P Henson's Golden Globes award win for her character "Cookie" on show.

Being the most-nominated television series this season with 35 nominations, the show was recently named a Top 10 Television Program of the Year by the American Film Institute.

The series also undefined for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Recently, a trailer was released for the titled "Revenge is Coming."

The trailer featured Hakeem pointing a gun at his father, Lucious and Cookie cuddling, a car exploding, a cozy Hakeem and Laura, and an emotional Andre.

The mid-season 2 finale was titled,undefinedmeaning “Even you, Brutus?," gotten from William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, and used to refer to betrayal by a close friend or relative.

The episode ended with Lucious getting thrown out as CEO of Empire, after an unexpected betrayal by Mimi and Hakeem.
