"Ambition is still seen as a dirty word when it comes to women. Many times women feel dragged between two competing sides- ambition and family. we feel guilty when we choose the former instead of the latter. In today's Vlog, Valerie shows us that it is ok and infact 'normal' to want more when it comes to our careers. By sharing snippets and insights from her personal career journey she gives us 5 tips for embracing ambition. She says as women, our ambitions are real and even though it may ruffle some feathers, bring with it its own unique portion of guilt and doubt we must never tire of embracing it."

Valerie is the Product Line Manager for Baker Hughes Inc. and manages the Artificial Lift Business across up to 10 countries in West and Central Africa. She has a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering with Process Control from the University of Bradford, England and over 16 years of experience working mostly in the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry.
