"It has lots of girls in it, but it's also something guys can relate to, because guys also go through their own pressure and no one want to talk about it" - Dakore Akande.

About "Isoken"

"It's the story of a 34-year-old woman, who is very successful, has a great family, she has great friends. She has a full life, except for the fact that she isn't married and she has two of her younger sisters married.

"Then she finds herself caught between two men who come from two totally different backgrounds and pose two different things to her.

She has to figure out within herself, and at the same time, dealing with the pressure that she's getting from family and friends about who she should date.

"I think it's a story about what a typical Nigerian woman goes through once she hits that age of 30 and above, and that pressure she tends to be under."

Difference between "Isoken" and past movies

"Isoken is a full story, she is a full character. I think recently I have played more ensemble cast, so, sometimes with that, your story may not get as much treatment or it's one of many stories.

So, this is a full story where you see her actual journey. You see where she starts and there's that arc, and you see where she ends.

And of course, it's a lead. I have to basically carry the film and that brings its own pressure. But you know, I'm always one to rise to the occasion as much as I can. And that's what you want as an actor, you want a full story where you can run that garment of emotions."

"Isoken's debut date

"Isoken" premieres this Friday, so tell a friend to tell a friend. We need to make this a movement, and I think it's also very important because women's stories are just getting to the forefront.

It's so important that we support our movies and this is a real girl power movie. It has lots of girls in it, but it's also something guys can relate to, because guys also go through their own pressure and no one want to talk about it, but this film also talks about it.

It talks about your relationships with your dad, your friends. It's something that I think everyone is going to go away from that cinema feeling like 'wow,' and appreciating the pressure that we all put on ourselves, one way or the other."

"Isoken" debuts on Friday, June 16, 2017.
