Actress explains why she made a video for GEJ

Nollywood actress Rita Dominic claims GEJ has made a lot of effort to help the Nigerian movie industry hence why she shot a video to support him free of charge.

Quite a number of Nollywood actors have pledged their allegiance to President Goodluck Jonathan, vowing he is the best choice to vote into power to rule Nigeria once again.

Rita Dominic, a popular Nigerian actress who went as far as making a video to promote GEJ's campaign explained toVanguard in an interview on February 8, 2015 explaining her actions.

In a letter she wrote to her fans, Rita explained why she and her company, Audrey Silva, shot a video to support President Goodluck Jonathan re-election into office.

According to Rita, GEJ has done more for the Nigerian film industry than any other president so far.

“I want to let everybody know that I will be supporting and voting for President Goodluck Jonathan. I am making this decision because he has affected my immediate constituency which is Nollywood more than any president in the history of Nigeria.

He has built roads, Benin- Ore road, Ibadan- Lagos road which is near completion, federal universities in almost all the states of the federation, maintaining peace in the Niger-Delta, resuscitation of the railways and a couple of other things. And I have a strong conviction beyond reasonable doubt that Jonathan will lead us to a very good place. I am not saying that he is perfect, but considering the times we are in, he has done very well"

Rita went on to squash all speculations that she was paid for the video saying “For those who wish to know we did not demand or get a dime for the video. It was purely done out of conviction"

The Nollwood actress is the third person to deny being paid to support GEJ, D'banj and Eedris Abdulkareem also denied receiving any form of 'financial encouragement' to campaign for Goodluck Jonathan.
