Should we be fixated on Sean Tizzle’s bleaching?

What is wrong with Sean Tizzle goes beyond his alleged skin bleaching. His brand has fallen badly within the last year.

The media has been fixated on Sean Tizzle’s skin for the past three years but with his music waning his skin has now become the main (if not the only) topic of conversation.

In October, 2015 Sean Tizzle’s fans lashed out at him over the alleged bleaching of his skin. While the colour of Sean Tizzle’s skin is fascinating enough, it seems we are forgetting to ask why the singer’s brand has plummeted within the last one year.

In 2013 and 2014 Sean Tizzle was the darling of the music industry after dropping back to back hits and releasing an impressive debut album ‘’.

The debut album was lauded as being the best pop album of Nigeria in 2014. Shortly after that Sean Tizzle has fizzled with hardly any buzz around him.

The only news about Sean Tizzle have not been in his favour. There were rumours that he had split with music producer D’Tunes who he was signed to as a recording artist. After a few months Sean Tizzle in an interview addressed the rumour and said it wasn’t true.

Also in September 2015, popular comedian Basketmouth after he went all Hollywood on him. According to the stand up comedian he helped Sean Tizzle snag three shows, and when he called on him to perform at his own show the pop act allegedly gave him a ridiculous price.

“I called on Sean Tizzle and he was charging me a certain amount of money, I didn’t know if it was him or his management that charged me, but I don’t care, I had to tell my team to blacklist his name on any of my shows” said the comedian. Sean Tizzle reacted to the accusation with a single tweet.

Last year he released four singles that failed to pick up. In 2016 he has dropped one single with no impact yet. To observers it is clear to see that Sean Tizzle is struggling to be relevant.

While Sean Tizzle’s skin (black or not) can easily generate juicy headlines, his fall from the top should be highlighted more.
