A veteran actor Ernest Asuzu said in June that the President of teh Actors Guild of Nigeria IbinaboFiberesima has not come to his aid. Asuzu suffered a stroke last year, and he has been plagued with unconfirmed reports of mental instability for years now. His wife however recently denied that he is mentally ill.

In response the AGN president lashed out at Asuzu for not being a bonafide member of the guild. "I have kept quiet for too long and this doesn’t mean I am a fool. I don’t go about abusing people on the pages of newspapers. If he is sick, he should take care of himself and stop begging on the streets and tell people what exactly is wrong with him. I am Ibinabo and AGN is a body. He should stop rubbishing my name on the pages of newspapers,” she said.
