Royal Sons Honour Mother At Diana Awards' 15th Anniversary

The Diana Awards was created back in 1999, two years after Princess Di's death to tackle bullying and social exclusion.

Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry have paid tribute to the charity set up in their mother's name and have revealed that she would have been very 'proud' of what its achievements over the years

The Diana Awards was created back in 1999, two years after Princess Di's death to tackle bullying and social exclusion.

As her sons celebrate the award's 15 year anniversary, both spoke out about Diana's charitable legacy and praised its energy and passion.

"We believe, when encouraged and supported, that young people have the ability to change society for the better. We know that our mother - in whose memory this award was established - felt the same and would be proud of its achievements to date,” both wrote in a joint foreword for a book celebrating the organisation's birthday

The Diana Awards are presented to young people, including volunteers, carers and fund-raisers, who have a monumental impact on the lives of others. It also runs training, mentoring and anti-bullying ambassador programmes.

Also present at the ceremony in London were The Prince of Wales and his wife Camela.
