Governor of Minnesota dedicates June 7 to late singer

There was an announcement from the governor’s office that the today has been set aside to celebrate the late American musician.

Minnesota's Gov. Mark Dayton marked the late music legend’s birthday by declaring June 7 “Prince Day”

“Minnesotans are encouraged to wear purple on Prince Day in honor of The Purple One's enduring legacy.”

“Not only to the global catalogue of music genres, but to Minnesota's worldwide prominence and its economic growth.”

This declaration was made in honor of the introduction of the PRINCE ACT (Personal Rights in Names Can Endure).

A bill directly inspired by the death of the singer was introduced in Minnesota's Senate and House of Representatives.

Prince was found unresponsive at an elevator in his Paisley Park home. Paramedics who came to his house tried in vain to resuscitate the singer.

He was pronounced dead after failed attempts to revive him.

The new information concerning his death has opened up the singer's alleged drug addiction issues.

According to an attorney to the singer's half-siblings, Prince had an addiction to Percocet many years before his death.

CNN reported that law enforcement have classified the probe into Prince's death as a criminal investigation.
