Body of Congolese music star arrives Congo for burial

Late Wemba will be buried on Tuesday,May 3, 2016 after lying in state in a stadium in Kinshasa on Monday, May 2.

Papa Wemba, who died aged 66, was considered one of Africa’s most influential musicians of his generation.

He was also known as the driving spirit behind a cult movement known as "Sapeurs" whose members spend huge amounts of money on designer clothes.

He pioneered modern Congolese Soukous music, which spread through the continent and won a world following with his Soukous rock music and remained one of Africa's most popular musicians until his death.
