Celebrity DJ says her father did not get her inauguration gig

Speaking to the NET Cuppy, who is about to go on an African tour, said she landed the gig because she's a tourism ambassador for Nigeria.

Celebrity disc jockey DJ Cuppy-the daughter oil tycoon Femi Otedola- who performed at the Inauguration Ball at Aso Rock on May 29, 2015 has said had no influence in getting the gig.

Speaking to the NET Cuppy, who is about to go on an African tour, said she landed the gig because she's a tourism ambassador for Nigeria.

"First, it’s important I explain that I’m a Tourism ambassador for the Nigerian campaign and a lot of people ask how it came about. It happened when I released a song with titled ‘I Love My Country’ which is a patriotic song that somehow got to officials of the ministry and Minister of Tourism at that time, and they liked it" said Cuppy.

"So with that song and my potential role as a tourism ambassador, the inauguration ball committee thought it would be great to have someone representing a new Nigeria and the female gender. Personally I feel that a female DJ is unique and it was such an honour to be part of the presidential inauguration dinner and I look forward to working with the new tourism officials as well" she further said.
