Kunle Afolayan is a year older today

Today, Kunle Afolayan can be regarded as one of the leading movie directors in Nigeria if not the most prominent out of them all.

Born into a family of thespians, his father is Ade Love (Adeyemi Josiah Afolayan), popular theater and film director and actor in the 70’s and 80’s, Afolayan's first rise to fame was in the Tunde Kelani movie "Saworoide" released in 1998.

In 2005 after studying at the New York Film Academy he released his first movie "The Figurine" in 2009.

Today, Kunle Afolayan can be regarded as one of the leading movie directors in Nigeria if not the most prominent out of them all. His other movies are "Phone Swap", "The Ceo", "October 1" and others.

He is married to Tolu Afolayan with three kids.
