Darey Art-Alade is a year older today

Darey Art-Alade, son of legendary Nigerian Jazz singer, Art Alade, started playing with music at an early age.

He started singing in choirs including the National Troupe of Nigeria Choir and the Cathedral Choir.

When he was 15 Darey started performing at clubs in Lagos, Ibadan. During one of his performances at a night club he was noticed by an executive of the radio station Cool FM.

During his time at University of Lagos studying music Darey was also a presenter on Cool FM. He was also in an acapella group called The Chordwebs at this point.

After his radio gig, Darey took part in the Project Fame Academy in South Africa in 2004. He emerged third.

Shortly after he signed to Storm Records in Nigeria and released his debut album ‘’ in 2006.
