He died on September 3, 2015. Joseph C. Nwabufo would have been 85 years old in October.

Anita Joseph heard the news about her father's demise when she was on location.
Joseph C. Nwabufo died in Enugu. He didn't show any sign of illness and had just gotten back from spending between 3 to 4 months with his actress daughter in Lagos.
