UK broadcast giant gives away 1million free mini computers to 11 year old kids.

Tom Hall, BBC director general says he is excited that the kids will be acquiring useful education that will help them become better citizens in life.

BBC launched a campaign aimed at encouraging kids between the ages of 11 and 12 to write codes and develop computer programs. The project-Make it digital was launched today, Thursday 12th of March.

An official statement from BBC says that they are excited about the impact this project will make and that the kids will be given a conducive environment to learn.

The children will learn how to write codes with the aid of a programmable wearable hardware that has been programmed to help kids learn the basics of coding, called MICRO BIT.

He also stated that BBC is partnering with Big names in the tech industry like; Google, Samsung, Apple, to roll out more tech events and educational activities.

BBC says it is their contribution to ensuring that there is no gap in the coding and programming sector.
