Buhari campaign group calls for Fani-Kayode’s arrest

The demand was made on Monday, March 30, by the BSO’s Director of Media and Information, Chidi Maduekwe during a news conference in Abuja.

The Buhari Support Organization (BSO) has called for the arrest of the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode over his announcement of unofficial results.

The demand was made on Monday, March 30, by the BSO’s Director of Media and Information, Chidi Maduekwe during a news conference in Abuja.

Maduekwe alleged that Fani-Kayode had contravened some sections of the Electoral Act by announcing that the PDP was leading in the presidential election in 23 states.

“We ask the security agencies to immediately arrest Fani-Kayode for breaching relevant sections of the Electoral Act which forbids any organ outside INEC from officially declaring election results,” Maduekwe said.

“His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased participants in this electoral process. His declaration is also a breach of both the first and second Abuja Peace Accord signed by the presidential candidates,” he added.

Fani-Kayode had also earlier claimed that the PDP was leading by 2-3 million votes in the Presidential polls.
