French President, Francois Hollande has placed a phone call to Nigeria’s President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari in a bid to expand trade between the countries.
French President calls President-elect, invites him to Paris
Hollande is said to have spoken to Buhari on Thursday, April 2, and also invited him to Paris for talks.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the French Embassy in Abuja. It reads:
“The French head of state assured the President-elect of France’s wish to continue the close relationship that existed with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, and reiterated France’s support for Nigeria and its neighbours in their efforts to combat the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.”
Buhari was named President-elect on Tuesday, March 31, after winning Nigeria’s Presidential elections.
