The Federal Government has shortlisted 300,000 Nigerian youths for training in areas such as renewable energy, oil and gas, construction and agriculture.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Adviser to the Presidency on Jobs Creation and Youths Empowerment, Afolabi Imokhuede, who said that initial training will last for about three months.

Afterwards, the shortlisted youths will be deployed for further training in reputable institutions for another period of one year, with the option of granting them permanent employment.

The 300,000 youths were selected from a pool of 2.5 million applicants as the government tries to reduce the population of over 40 million unemployed youths in the country.
